Save the Children Haiti Fund Day at Leicester City Council

A number of events are being organised throughout the City and Leicester City Council to continue to help the people of Haiti who have survived this devastating earthquake. Freemen Ward Councillor Dale Keeling initiated the idea of a 'Dress down' day and donate a pound to the cause.

Old Invincible Pub, Eyres Monsell - Update

Local Lib Dem campaigners Joan Garrity and Scott Kennedy Lount have successfully petitioned the City Council to clean up the Old Invincible Pub site in Eyres Monsell. They understand that the City Council are pursuing a Section 215 for the building to be demolished.

57 off-licences tested during first week of summer holidays

Alcohol test purchases have been carried out at 57 off-licences in Leicester in the first week of the school summer holidays. The crackdown forms part of Leicestershire Constabulary's 'Safer Summer' campaign which aims to reduce anti-social behaviour, including underage drinking, over the holiday period.

Charity Fund-Raiser Thank You Message

A fundraiser held at Leicester city based restaurant Zucchero, raised £800 for Special Olympics Leicester. The event, organised by Lib Dem Councillor Dale Keeling was attend by the Lord Mayor of Leicester, Roger Blackmore and included a great performance by the Lancaster Boys Choir.
