A Campaign, launched by Councillor Mark Farmer, called Safer Routes, has been hailed a major success, as the number of recorded violent Crime instances in the City Centre falls massively. Measures include- New well lit routes throughout the City Centre Street Marshal's that keep a check on people waiting for taxi's Street Pastors who defuse difficult situations A Night Bus to enable people get home safely An SOS bus, that deals with minor injuries, helping to keep the pressure off the local accident and emergency department. Councillor Mark Farmer said, "I am pleased that this project has made such a difference.
