A Book of condolence for Benazir Bhutto
A Book of condolence has been opened at Leicester Town Hall following the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
The book is due to be opened from around 12.30pm on Friday, December 28, to allow visitors to leave messages of condolence for Ms Bhutto, who was killed following an election rally in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, yesterday.
The Lord Mayor of Leicester, Councillor Gary Hunt, said: "Leicester is very much like a family and we all share the pain of tragedies like this, so it is very appropriate to open a book of condolence in these circumstances. "All those who wish to record their thoughts on Benazir Bhutto's passing and include a dedication to her memory will be able to do so. "On occasions like this I hope people from across the city - not just from the Pakistani community - will take part on this sad but important day."
The book will be open from Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 5pm. Commissionaires at the Town Hall will be able to direct visitors to the book.
