There has been a call from residents and local Lib Dem councillors to set up an Area Committee for the Fosse and New Parks area.

Cllr Phyllis Green, the Lib Dem councillor for Fosse said, "Local people are missing out by not having an Area Committee."

The Committees are chaired by councillors, but also involve other key agencies such as the police and health. One of the main ways you can engage with the city council and its officers to improve life in your ward is through your Area Committee. There are nine areas in Leicester plus the city centre currently based on groupings of 2-3 wards.

Area Committee meetings are for everyone living in the area, and are open to anyone to attend.
