Aylestone Ward. Aylestone deserves better.

As the Labour controlled council propose plans to open up Putney Road at its junction with Aylestone Road, local people in Aylestone are concerned this new road scheme will have a detrimental effect on the community in terms of extra traffic, congestion and pollution. Cyclists and pedestrians could be less safe and journey times will increased due to the additional junction on Aylestone Road.

Local people in Aylestone are very disappointed that the Labour council failed to give residents the right to discuss the consultation at a recent council meeting.

The Labour council's own data shows that Aylestone's A426 has very very poor air quality, notably bad by Soar Valley Way. The 24/7 bus lanes have failed to improve congestion or air quality in Aylestone.
