Aylestone Ward Councillor Nigel Porter: Leicester City Council leadership has no clear strategy.

LLD

As plans announced this week to purchase two properties on Horsefair Street for £1.1million, one to be demolished to make way for an Open Space between Town Hall Square and the Leicester Market which eventually could cost up to £1.6million, Leicester Liberal Democrats' Aylestone Ward Councillor, Nigel Porter has said "there appears to be no clear strategy by the leadership of the Council."

Councillor Porter explains "Time and time again we are told that the Council is suffering from the worst level of cuts in living memory. If the cash strapped council suddenly has all this spare cash of £1.6million burning a hole in its pocket. I thought we had a housing crisis. So why not use the spare £1.6million to build some much needed homes on the numerous and derelict brownfield sites across the City.
