Braunstone Housing Office. Leicester City Council Public Consultation. Braunstone Park and Rowley Fields Ward campaigner Ian Bradwell making sure residents are aware of the consultation.
Leicester City Council are currently engaging the public in a consultation concerning the future of the Braunstone Housing Office. Braunstone Park and Rowley Fields resident, Liberal Democrat PPC at the 2015 General Election for Leicester West, Ian Bradwell has been out and about informing local residents by letter there is the consultation taking place which closes on 7th December.
A transcipt of the letter to residents is below:
Dear Resident
Leicester City Council Consultation - Braunstone Housing Office
We are aware a consultation is taking place until 7th December by Leicester City Council concerning a proposal to close Braunstone Housing Office and relocate services to the BRITE Centre.
It is proposed staff will be relocated to the Saffron Lane office and specialist teams will provide additional support surgeries and tenant advice at the BRITE Centre including the STAR programme and the Income Management Team.
As Liberal Democrats we are concerned in the Ward about the downscaling of the Braunstone Housing Team and staff being overstretched.
Ian Bradwell, Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate at the 2015 General Election who is a resident in our Ward informs the BRITE Centre staff are "extremely helpful" and is concerned they will be over-burdened with extra work and will cause much distress and delay for local residents.
Ian adds "If this goes ahead, what is the future for other Housing Offices on the Estate?"
Residents can go online or contact Ellen.watts@leicester.gov.uk or to the address above and these will be passed on.
Yours Faithfully
Ian Bradwell
