Campaign to Save Elizabeth House

4 Mar 2011

New Parks campaigners Nicola Henfrey, Jeanette Craig and Troy Lavers have started a Facebook campaign to try and save Elizabeth House, a City Council run elderly persons home in New Parks.

Councillor Peter Coley, Leader of the Lib Dem Council group said on the Facebook page; "Labours published plan involves running the home down during the next year then closing it. At the budget meeting the cabinet lead tried to claim that there was no intention of closing anything but a week ago I wrote challenging him to give commitment that the home would continue to accept new residents and would not be run down or face closure. To date I have received no such commitment."

Jeanette said, "This site will raise awareness of the campaign, local shops have petition sheets if anyone would like to sign and we will soon have a on-line petition set up for people to sign on-line."
