Congratulations to David Bill MBE
Lib Dems on Leicestershire County Council have congratulated Councillor David Bill who has been appointed an MBE in the New Year Honours list.
David has been a longstanding member of the Liberal/Liberal Democrat parties for over 40 years. David has fought 24 Elections, won 22 and has not lost a local election since 1973.
He has been elected to Hinckley & Bosworth since 1974 and has been both Leader and Deputy Leader. He has been Chairman of the County Council and continues to serve as the group's spokesman on Transport. Alongside this David has been a long standing member of Leicestershire's Police Authority.
Outside of Leicestershire, David's political career has been one of promoting Hinckley and Bosworth, and Liberal Democrat work in Leicestershire. He has recently been appointed to the Urban Commission on the LGA and works tirelessly to promote employment opportunities for local young people.
Simon Galton, Leader of the Liberal Democrats on Leicestershire County Council said:
"After 40 years of hard graft on behalf of local people this MBE represents the recognition of David's insurmountable energy and capacity for work. I have had the privilege of working with David for many years and I am sure there are many years yet to come - he is the best example of the difference local Liberal Democrats make to the lives of people in our communities."
Well done David!
