Lib Dem New Parks Councillor, Tricia Beck supported by Lib Dem Spinney Hill Cllr Mussa Saleh put a motion forward in last nights full council meeting to oppose the merger of police forces across the country.

Cllr's Beck and Saleh acted to put the motion forward to support residents concern about the huge cost for the mergers which could raise to five hundred million pounds, money that could be better spent to provide extra police officers, concerns were also raised about local policing which could be run as far away as Nottingham or Derby.

The motion was supported by all political parties.
