Energy Saving Week is drawing to a close, the week was organised by the Energy Saving Trust and was to encouraging people to reduce their energy consumption by 20% .

If we all in the UK commit to save 20% of the energy that we use every day, together we can help prevent climate change.

The Energy Saving Trust is encouraging people to take a few simple steps as part of their everyday life to reduce their energy use, five ideas include;

1. boil just enough water in your kettle that is needed when making hot drinks

2. Use energy efficient bulbs

3. Do not leave appliances on standby, like TVs - Switch them off.

4. Turn down your thermostat by 1 degree centigrade

5. Washing laundry at 30 degrees
