Energy Saving Day

Energy Saving Day - or E-Day - provides an opportunity for everyone to do their bit for the environment, by switching off electrical items that aren't in use.

Organisers hope to show how even small energy-saving measures can play a part in tackling climate change. Thy ask that you cut your energy consumption over a 24-hour period, starting at 6pm tonight until 6pm tomorrow night.

Many people will be turning off lights they don't really need and making sure we don't leave their TVs on stand-by. People will be able to track the day's energy savings by logging on to the E-Day website at www.e-day.org.uk

At the end of E-Day (6pm on Thursday 28th), the total savings of money, energy and carbon associated with the event will be calculated and posted on the website.
