Councillor Hussein Suleman said, "I hope this motion is passed and supported by all political parties in Leicester. I feel that we would all urge restraint on both sides of the increasing un -easy conflict over Gaza."

The Lord Mayor of Leicester has accepted as a matter of urgent business a motion about the recent events on the ship Mavi Marmara, which was taking aid to the people of Gaza.

The aid ship was stormed by Israeli commandos looking for weapons.

The motion ask's for restraint and a fair enquiry into the situation. The motion is proposed by Lib Dem Stoneygate Councillor, Hussein Suleman.
