The Future of the Eyres Monsell Post Office - "What is it?"

Residents concerns have come to Eyres Monsell Focus Team Campaigners.

Eyres Monsell campaigners Christopher Garner and Scott Kennedy-Lount were contacted recently by concerned residents at the lack of forthcoming information about the future of the Post Office Counter Services in Eyres Monsell when the current arrangements with Martins ends.

Having contacted the Post Office at National Level the Post Office are "committed to providing sustainable services to their customers. The aim of the Post Office Network Transformation Programme is to put branches on a commercially sustainable footing, reducing reliance on national subsidy.

If a change involves a proposal to relocate a branch then a full public consultation takes place to seek feedback on their proposals.

It has always been the Post Office agreement with the governement that no community which currently has a Post Office service will be left without one as part of the Network Transformation Programme."

At present Eyres Monsell residents still have no indication other than rumour for the future of the Post Office service in Eyres Monsell. Can our Labour representatives now come out in an open forum and provide more details of their progress in addressing this important matter?

The Eyres Monsell Liberal Democrat Focus Team are committed to provide an open and fair debate to residents and we expect our local Labour representatives to afford the same committment.

We therefore invite residents to complete the petition here:

We will advise residents of any update via our regular Focus deliveries.
