Humberstone and Hamilton By-Election result. Bicram Athwal increases share of the vote for the Liberal Democrats

Bicram Athwal, the Liberal Democrats candidate in the Humberstone and Hamilton by-election received 262 votes (11%) in yesterday's poll. The Liberal Democrats share of the vote increased by 1.2% in the ward. Bicram was placed 3rd once the votes were counted, behind the Conservative candidate who won and Labour.

Both Labour and the Green Party share of the vote fell sharply; -15.5% and -7.1% respectively.

Besides the Labour Elected City Mayor the make-up of Leicester City Council is now:

1 Liberal Democrat (Cllr Nigel Porter)

1 Conservative

52 Labour
