Ian Bradwell calls for a minimum 3-4% pay increase for NHS staff after a hospitalised stay as a Covid 19 patient.

Like many people, unfortunately last year I got the Covid-19 virus. I had to go into Intensive Care for a short time, then onto a Covid ward. While I was in hospital, it gave me a wonderful opportunity, to observe how brilliant our NHS nurses are.

They did their duty with cheerfulness and a hearty dedication. It must have been at times heartbreaking to those succumbed to the virus and died. Not that you would know this, because they did everything in their power, to make your stay in hospital comfortable.

I was one of the lucky ones and survived the virus. In closing, I would like to say, how appalling it is that the government haven't gave them an adequate pay rise. These front line NHS people sometimes work a 12 hour shift and so deserve a minimum pay rise of 3 to 4 per cent.
