A £750, 000 scheme has been launched in order to improve public toilets throughout the city. Old and disused toilets are being knocked down and replaced with new blocks, whilst other toilets are being modernised.

The scheme has been launched after a MORI poll of city residents showed that they were disgusted with the poor facilities that were offered. Health and Safety officials are acting in partnership with the local council in order to make sure the new facilities are more appropriate to a busy city.
