Labour’s Leicester lockdown woes continue. Deputy Mayor for Transport caught out driving with NO MOT or valid Road Tax
The Labour run Leicester City Council are yet again in disarray this week after the Guido Fawkes website, order-order.com exposed Leicester Deputy Mayor, Cllr Adam Clarke as having driven since February 2020 without a valid MOT certificate on his vehicle. Furthermore to add to the issue, the same vehicle has had no Road Fund license paid on it when due on May 1st. Both have since been rectified and in line with the a Labour lockdown rule breakers an apology issued.
Cllr Clarke was re-elected in May 2019 in second place in Aylestone Ward behind popular Liberal Democrat Councillor in the Ward, Nigel Porter. Cllr Clarke said it was "a simple oversight"
Cllr Porter was quoted in the Leicester Mercury "He's lucky. A lot of people who drive without tax or MOT find themselves in front of magistrates and end up with points on their license and a fine.
It's not a very good example for a Labour Deputy Mayor to be setting - especially the one who is setting the city's transport policy."
