Calls for an investigation are being made

According to local press, calls have been made for an investigation into Labour's Leicester West MP's conduct after she used rooms in Parliament to host events for a company that employs her.

The MP booked rooms in the Palace of Westminster for events in 2008 and 2009 for BT, she has been non-executive director for BT since March 2008. The Commons code of conduct does not forbid MPs from taking outside jobs, but they must not receive payment for lobbying on their behalf in Parliament.

Leicester West Lib Dem Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Pete Coley, who also leads his party's group on Leicester City Council, said in local press, "I'll be writing to the relevant authorities to see that it is investigated. I'm not accusing her of anything. But transparency is required in these matters."
