Leicester City Liberal Democrats would like to thank all members and guests who attended a fundraising quiz night on Friday evening at the Aylestonians Rugby Football Ground. Sincere thanks also to all at Aylestonians as our hosts.

Members from Leicester City, Harborough, Corby, Chesterfield and Nottingham City were welcomed to the event by Parmjit Singh Gill, Chair of the Leicester City party prior to the quiz of 50 questions read by Scott Kennedy-Lount; some themed local to Leicester, the wider East Midlands and Europe. A paper "anagram" round was also produced.

A half-time entertainment was provided by the well-known Liberal blogger Lord Bonkers and speeches from Clllr Phil Knowles and George Smid; two the European Parliamentary Election candidates for the Liberal Democrats. Barbara Pearce, Vice-Chair of the Regional Party joined Regional Chair Tony Rogers who spoke of the importance of the forthcoming elections and the need of a shared co-operated voice by Member States.

Members, Guests and Families in excess of 40 enjoyed a light supper of sandwiches, samosas, spring rolls and light snacks prior to witnessing a handover of a cheque of £250 from Leicester City to the East Midlands Region.

Commenting afterwards, Scott said "I was conscious to the audience in advance and wanted to produce a memorable evening; lighthearted and have a range of questions which would have some interest to all attending. The food was well received by members and the agenda for the evening went according to plan!"
