Leicester City Residents voted to Remain on Thursday June 23rd

LCLD

On a disappointing night for 1000s of Liberal Democrats up and down the country who campaigned for a "Remain" vote in the UK European Union Referendum; in the city of Leicester we can take some heart that the city residents bucked the trend of the country and our neighbouring councils in Leicestershire by voting in favour of remaining in the European Union by 70980 votes to 67992 votes to leave.

The UK voted as a whole to leave the EU by 52% to 48%.
