Leicestershire Police and Crime Commissioner Election Result. 12.73% share of the vote for the Liberal Democrats
The Liberal Democrats in Leicestershire and Rutland contested the 2016 Police and Crime Commissioner elections for the first time on Thursday May 5th having opted not to participate in the first set of elections in 2012.
Dr Sarah Hill, District and County Councillor from Harborough was our candidate polling third place. This election used the Supplementary Voting System where electors choose a 1st and 2nd preference.
The result of the 1st round of voting:
Bach, Willy (Lab) 67991 votes; Bannister, Neil (Con) 46958 votes; Hill, Sarah (LibDem) 19359 votes, Sprason, David (UKIP) 17815 votes.
The second round was contested by the Labour and Conservative candidate and Lord Willy Bach was elected with a combined total of 78188 votes against 58305 votes to Neil Bannister.
Dr Hills 19359 votes represented a 12.73% share of the Leicestershire vote.
