Lib Dems call time on Parsons

10 Feb 2012

Liberal Democrats have expressed their shock and outrage that David Parsons has not resigned from the Leadership of the County Council.

Dr Sarah Hill said; "we are appalled that he has managed to survive calls for his resignation from members of his own cabinet. His continued leadership is blight on the image of the council and damages its reputation and integrity.

Over the next few weeks this council faces major decisions and should focus on the huge budget Cuts the Tories are introducing instead the focus will remain on Mr Parsons discredited leadership and the numerous allegations against him.

We heard this morning that Cabinet resignations where threatened. We hope that any outgoing members of the Cabinet are able to continue their work in seeing Mr Parsons ousted from power and we look forward to working with them.

We urge the Conservatives to think long and hard about the future standing of the Council"
