Lib Dems: Cleaner and Greener

Lib Dems have been keeping up their campaign for cleaner, greener energy this summer as the Labour Government looks set to return to the idea of nuclear power.

Leader of Leicester City Council, Roger Blackmore said, " As a party we have long supported sustainable energy projects such as the Severn barrage as well as the development of wave power and district heating schemes. Here in Leicester the Lib Dem led administration have pioneered solar heating schemes as well as the hot lofts scheme and intelligent metering designed to reduce energy consumption." He then pointed out that the Council had faced a major hike in energy costs this year, however the Lib Dem led council are now experimenting with the use of wood shavings and biodiesel as fuels in various city council schemes and working with Groundwork/Environ to take these developments forwards.
