A new shuttle bus service will be launched in the autumn that will take holiday-makers from Leicester straight to Nottingham East Midlands Airport.

It is hoped that the service will encourage travellers to start their holidays earlier by leaving their cars at home - thus lessening congestion on the roads to and from the airport and decreasing pollution.

The shuttle bus will also transport employees from Leicester City Centre to the airport, providing Leicester residents with easier access to the various jobs available at the airport. Airport ground transport manager Colleen Hempson said: "We are likely to become the largest single site for employment in the East Midlands.

"It is vital we develop strong transport links to the cities and towns around us to ensure people in the region who want to work at the airport are able to."

Decrease in pollution, easier access to employment and an earlier start to your holidays - what more do you want from a bus?!
