The Department of Transport has approved the application, the council will now take over responsibility from the police on 2nd January 2007 and will be responsible for enforcing parking restrictions on yellow lines, disabled bays, bus-stops and bus lanes, loading bays, taxi ranks and short-stay parking spaces.

All monies raised from the enforcement will be put back into the scheme, with any profits going towards transport improvements for the City.
