"Rubbish Rates" as Labour Run Leicester City Council finally update its Household Recycling and Composting Rates.

LLD

Liberal Democrats in Leicester during 2016 and 2017 highlighted on this website the ruling Labour Council had not updated its Household Waste statistics for Recycling, Composting and Diversion. The figures have recently been updated; however, the total figures for Recycling and Composting combined have fallen in 2015-16 to levels not seen since 2012-13.

The Orange Bag recycling scheme when announced it would be introduced city wide in 2011 after a successful trial in 6 wards of the city had expected to increase Recycling and Composting Rates to nearer 50%. The highest it has reached has been 43.05% in 2013-14 and has fallen since.
