"She would rather die than leave the Labour Party" - Is Emily Thornberry being serious asks Cllr Nigel Porter?

LLD

Emily Thornberry has been quoted as saying "She'd rather die than leave the Labour Party" after defections from the Labour Party to the new Independent Group.

Aylestone Liberal Democrat Ward Councillor, Nigel Porter questions if she is being serious and asks if she would actually die than leave the Labour Party?

It is utterly prepostrous - a complete nonsense. Is this MP really saying she places more value on the membership of a political party than on life itself? How melodramatic and disgraceful to those people around the world who have to die and continue to die for their beliefs.

If this Labour MP is actually stating that bar death nothing would take her away from the Labour Party then I suggest this gives us a glimpse into why the Labour Party today is in such complete and utter disarray. It's clearly full of people who put their loyalty to the Labour Party name ahead of what is clearly in the best interests of the country and its people.

Thank heavens Winston Churchill never adopted this preposterous Labour edict. Winston Churchill happily switched political parties moving from the Conservatives to the Liberals in 1904 and then to the Tories in 1925.
