Local campaigner Nicola Henfrey is backing residents calls to have yellow lines and time restrictions for parking removed.

The single yellow lines situated around residential areas: Brookdale Road, Elsham Close, Cathkin Close, Woodhall Close and Chevin Avenue have been a recent target of traffic wardens these past months.

The residents of this area have been charged as much as £40 pounds for parking on the roads outside their own homes. The council were swiftly contacted and one of the suggestions made was simply, if you do not have a driveway then pave over your lawn!

Local campaigner Nicola Henfrey has backed a residents petition over the matter which is gaining support. Nicola said, "This is a silly situation which can easily be solved, I'm fully backing the call to have the lines removed."

The local Labour Councillor was asked of the recent developments he said: "The lines have been there for thirty years and people knew very well when they moved in the lines were there." He concluded in saying; no action was being taken.
