Following a statement from the County Council about the reconsidering options for changes to Bus routes in the County, in the light of 1500 consultation responses, Bill Boulter CC a member of the Bus panel had the following to say:

Latest situation on Bus cuts

As promised, Liberal Democrat County Councillors have been working hard monitoring the impact of a Bus Review launched earlier in the year. The bus review that the County Council conducted was designed to achieve around £750,000 of savings from public transport. It was a cross party review but the Lib Dems on the panel insisted that the panel must be reconvened at a later date to discuss the results of the public consultation.

Tory u-turn on Council resources

Barely two weeks after they voted against a similar set of proposals from the Liberal Democrats to imporve roads, County Tories finally proposed a package of measures that make a small use of a projected £13m underspend and £110m reserves. Liberal Democrats added the following submission welcoming the move and the acceptance of our arguments all along.
