On Tuesday 27th July, Liberal Democrat councillors used the last Cabinet session before the summer break to present their views on key issues affecting local people in Leicestershire:
Compensation has been paid to some residents by the Labour run Leicester City Council for not dealing with their complaints.
The Liberal Democrat Group on Leicestershire County Council has welcomed a U-turn by the Conservatives to give a temporary reprieve to a number of Home to school bus routes. In paper to next Tuesday's Cabinet, it is recommended that Home to school transport is not cut pending a Scrutiny review of the current eligibility criteria.
The Liberal Democrat Group has reacted to further cuts of £12m from the County Council with concern that they are focused on the most vulnerable.
Thanks to a petition raised by Eyres Monsell campaigners Joan Garrity and Scott Kennedy Lount, City Council officers have served a notice on the owners of the Old Invincible Pub site and are now pushing for them to demolish the building.
