The monthly get together for Liberal Drinks will take place on Thursday 21st July from 1900 hours at the Ale Wagon, Charles Street in the centre of Leicester.
On a disappointing night for 1000s of Liberal Democrats up and down the country who campaigned for a "Remain" vote in the UK European Union Referendum; in the city of Leicester we can take some heart that the city residents bucked the trend of the country and our neighbouring councils in Leicestershire by voting in favour of remaining in the European Union by 70980 votes to 67992 votes to leave.
The Liberal Democrats in Leicestershire and Rutland contested the 2016 Police and Crime Commissioner elections for the first time on Thursday May 5th having opted not to participate in the first set of elections in 2012.
Across the country the Liberal Democrats have had 15000 new members join the party since the result of the EU Referendum in the early hours of Friday June 24th, Leicester City Liberal Democrats in the South and East constituencies of the city have enjoyed an increase of 19% in membership.
