The draft budget for Leicestershire County Council was released today. There will be a Council Tax increase of 4%, the highest Council Tax rise in 8 years. There will also be severe cuts to Council services.

Today, Tory Leader Nick Rushton sent out a Christmas message, wishing readers a Merry Christmas. Much of the focus was on some of the more positive things to happen in Leicestershire this year, such as the reinternment of Richard III, but the bit that most caught my eye were the warnings of what the year ahead would bring.
