Local Liberal Democrats have today expressed surprise at Michael Howard's decision to visit Welford Road Police station. During the last Conservative Government Michael Howard was the Minister personally responsible for cutting the number of police despite his promise to deliver more.

The Lib Dem team met with local pensioners at the community centre for lunch to discuss community matters. Top concerns for local residents are the closure of local Post Offices and the Labour candidate's record of closing homes for the elderly in Leicester.
